Golden Rules of Social Media Marketing

     Do more listening than talking

This is the most important rule of social media marketing if you want to leverage it for your maximum benefit. Instead of flooding the internet with non-stop posts and articles, listen to what your audience wants. Spot the online destinations where your audience is present and join them in discussions. Get to know their pain points and what they are seeking. The more you listen to them, the better you can capture their attention and convert them into customers.

     Focus on specialization

Instead of trying your hands on everything and trying to become a jack of all trades, it is far better to just pick one niche and achieve specialization in that. When you conduct a social media marketing campaign that is highly focused, it will have a much higher likelihood of building a stronger bond than a strategy which attempts to catch the attention of people from different places.

     Focus on quality, not quantity

Having just one hundred connections all of whom follow you religiously is much better than having a thousand connections of which none follows you. When it comes to social media, quality will trump quantity any day. So, instead of focusing on increasing the number of followers, focus on building relevant and loyal connections.
